Anthony has worked with hundreds of school districts and thousands of education leaders, from administrators to departments of education, both in the U.S. and globally. As the best-selling author of The New School Rules and The New Team Habits (Corwin Press), Anthony is a thought leader in modern education. He has delivered a TEDx talk and is a frequent guest on podcasts and in publications, where he shares insights on education, leadership, and innovation.
In 2021, Anthony founded Education Elements, a company that provides strategic planning and professional services to support teaching and learning initiatives, including personalized learning, curriculum-related services, and leadership programs. As Vice President of Innovation at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), Kawai spearheaded initiatives to empower school leaders and educators to embrace change and build sustainable, forward-thinking practices. She also co-authored The New Team Habits (2020), a practical guide that helps teams adopt effective behaviors for collaboration and innovation.
Kawai’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident in her role as co-founder of VizLit, an organization dedicated to unlocking the visual literacy of learners, and her work as a founding team member of Education Elements, an ed-tech startup that helped schools implement personalized learning models.
